What inspired you to enroll at Moravian Seminary?

I was searching for a seminary that would allow me to transfer units from previous graduate work and allow me to complete an M.Div on an accelerated timeline. I have always appreciated the Moravians from previous studies of church history and was delighted to find we have a seminary here in the US.

What are your career goals and desired profession?

I am a law enforcement chaplain exploring a possible call to Navy chaplaincy. Completing my M.Div at Moravian is part of that discernment process.

How has your experience at Moravian contributed to your personal growth or development?

I come from an Evangelical background and appreciate the opportunity to understand more of the beliefs of my mainline brothers and sisters. My preaching class has been an exceptional experience in developing my preaching voice

How do you see your Seminary degree enhancing your call to serve?

As part of the discernment process for my next call, this degree is a huge part of my call to serve those who serve us in the military.

Please share a bible verse personally meaningful to you and explain why:

Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” I love that we are called to lean on God's filling of joy and peace as we trust God and are to live, serve, and bless others from the overflow of hope God gives us through the Holy Spirit. I am trusting God step-by-step and trying to bless from that overflow.

What is one word to describe your Moravian experience?

Enriching.

Thank You

Your generous support of this scholarship has blessed me beyond measure. When I was just starting out in ministry, I was told not to get an M.Div. I took that as I wasn't good enough for the degree or vocational ministry. Having the opportunity to now complete an M.Div with your financial support is a full-circle moment for me that overflows with the kindness and goodness of God. Thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for your generosity. You have been used by God to affirm me and my calling, and for that I am deeply grateful.
